Continues to build proficiency as defined by the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. Content-based instruction develops communicative language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through readings and discussions of authentic Hispanic cultural and literary texts. For students with two or more years of Spanish or an intermediate level of Spanish language proficiency.
Narrative: This was the first Spanish class that I had taken in a while, so jumping into it was a bit difficult. Speaking Spanish in class was no problem, it was the course work and in class assignments that really took a toll. I learned many new things and I was able to reinforce many of the old things that I had learned before. An interesting aspect of the class was when we used a different word that may mean something in a different Spanish speaking country like “billetera” or “cartera.” I like to think that our teacher enjoyed calling us out on these because he has extensive knowledge on what words mean in different countries.
